As one of the world’s best-known and most appreciated brands, PAPER MATE allows everyone to express themselves using innovative, easy-to-use and comfortable writing instruments, from pens and pencils to highlighters. PAPER MATE is a brand of Newell Rubbermaid, a global marketer of consumer and commercial products such as Sharpie, Dymo, Graco, Goody, and Rubbermaid.
Paper Mate’s mission was simple: to develop an ink system that would provide effortless writing. They wanted a pen that started quickly without dragging, required minimal pressure from the hand, and delivered crisp, clean lines every time. But most of all, they wanted to bring back the joy to writing, so it felt right to call it InkJoy.
InkJoy addresses this need by combing a unique blend of ultra-low viscosity ink with optimized writing tips for delivering the ink. The result is effortless writing that is very different from ball pens, gels or rollers.
A random fun fact about me is that I love to write! When I was a teenager I used to keep a journal but sadly lost the ability to keep up with it. I've started writing poetry in my free time, so I was pretty excited to get the chance to review a fun package of InkJoy products including a stylish notepad journal and a Paper Mate pen cup. The first thing I noticed was the rainbow of colors in the packages of InkJoy pens, they were so pretty and really bright! It was an nice change from using boring old black or blue ink.
I have always loved using colored ink. So, I was excited to try these out. The pens work beautifully for crafts and writing in journals. What is important about pens, at least for me, is not how they look, but how they work. These Paper mate pens are cheaply priced, so I was afraid that they would not write smoothly. I had nothing to worry about. I was extremely surprised once I removed the wax tip at the end of the pen to find out that these pens work amazingly well. The company states on the box that they wanted to create a pan that provided almost effortless writing, and they definitely did that.
Not only did the pens write smoothly, but I noticed that the ink comes out in the perfect amount. Some colored pens have too much ink to come out and they result in ugly smears. You do not have to worry about that with these pens. After a few seconds the ink is dry and will not smear.
InkJoy 300 RT - Each pen comes with a protective wax tip on each point that you take off and throw away. The InkJoy literally glides across the paper, almost moving itself and taking the hand along for the ride. The color of the ink is straight forward by the color of the pen's barrel and finger grip. The grip is soft and comfortable. With the grip, it helps keep your fingers from slipping.
InkJoy 100 - These pens write really well, they contour to your hand and you don't have to put any pressure to get good solid lines. The colors are vibrant and they last a long time. The pens are very smooth and the colors are quite bright. Not like the pens where you have to keep a separate sheet of paper ton hand to test before it actually starts writing.
InkJoy 700 RT - After writing a bunch of poems and using these pens for various other writing needs, my pens still work flawlessly. There is no circling on scrap paper to get ink, no blotting or streaking. The grip is as good as other pens I have used but with the grey and white color scheme does look a bit more stylish.
You can purchase InkJoy pens across Canada, wherever office products are sold, including Staples and Walmart.
