I won't harp on how great OPI is, we all know that, or we wouldn't spend so much on the stuff. I've been a fan of OPI for a while now. I really like Nicole By OPI nail lacquers because of the wide variety of colors. They're high quality, smooth and they stay on your nails very well with a good topcoat. I got the chance to review the four colors below from the Nicole By OPI collection.

Sometimes I can be quite the nail polish addict especially in the summer and now with spring coming, there is some new fabulous colors and I want them all!

Normal Lighting

Change The World: This polish is a forward moving magenta which super pretty and one of my favorite colors for a nail polish. It may seem at first like a regular old magenta color but this color actually GLOWS on the nail.

This color looks great against fair to medium skin tones. In just two coats, there's a shine to this color and a little shimmer, but not a crazy amount of shimmer. It applies smoothly, dries quick, and does not chip. Not only that but it doesn't leave all those bubbles that makes your nails look sloppy. It seems less opaque than other OPI pinks I have. But I just adore this color and think it's a must have in your collection. It's definitely a "go to" color if you can't decide. Perfect for all seasons, but mostly spring and summer. This color is just gorgeous!

A Million Sparkles: A Million Sparkles is tons of glitter in a clear base. There is small, round blue glitter, medium round gold glitter and pink bar glitter. Application was actually really good for a glitter. It only took two coats for it to be opaque.

I like fun colors and being a total girly girl, I love this lacquer because it's funky and of course because it has sparkles! I love sparkles! I used to dread Glitter polish because it used to be a pain to remove but not anymore with this easy how to guide! This is a seriously awesome and unique glitter. I like that it doesn't look messy or goopy which has happened with other glitter polishes I have tried. This is a must have for the glitter fanatic.

The other two lacquers I reviewed below are without pictures. I am trying to grow my nails out after 15 years of biting them. I have bumps on some of nails which is so not attractive, LOL so I will post pictures with these colors at a later date.

Imagine If: Let yourself go in the glittery silver. A sheer silver holographic polish in a clear base. Almost too dense to be a topcoat, but sheer enough that it needs at least three coats for opacity. I still think it looks great with just two coats if you don't mind the sheer look. This would also make a great one coat "topping" for a dark color. It's very subtle and pretty. Perfect if you want your nails to have just a touch a of bling!

Respect The World: This polish is a rich jaded green, that's totally not jaded. Respect the World is a very pretty aqua, kind of a blue-green leaning towards the blue side. It has a bit of gold shimmer and reminds me of a mermaids tale, the way the colour is reflective. This is a fabulous spring color.

I was pleased with these great colors. All the lacquers were easy to apply, went on smoothly, drying time was good and they had very good coverage. The lacquers proved to be virtually chip proof. In the past it wasn't unusual for me to have to touch up my nails every second or third day (as I use a keyboard alot). Now, the color lasts from manicure to manicure.

They have a variety of new colors out which you can check out here. Pink is one of my favorite colors so I tend to use the pink atomizer the most. I had used up all the perfume I had put into it and wanted to fill it with a different scent as I like to change my perfumes up every few days. The great thing about Travalo atomizers is there is no need to worry about mixing perfumes as its very simple to clean.

Cleaning Your Atomizer: Spray all your perfume out then fill it with new perfume and the old

smell fades within a couple sprays. Easy Peasy!

Carrying Case With Travalo Elite Atomizers

This case is a great idea for carrying your atomizers and keeping them organized in your handbag. However the magnet under the fabric doesn't seem to work very well.with the atomizers inside of it. Which is strange because It closes fine without them inside. Not sure why this was happening as I tried everything I could think of to make it work. It just wasn't happening. It's possible I just received a case with a weird magnet! LOL

Other than the issues with the carrying case, I highly recommend Travalo Perfume Atomisers. What a great gift idea for both men and women! This is by far, one of the best inventions ever!

If you purchase the Elite or Excel atomizers, the prices run higher on their website at around $20 each and the Classic version for $15.99 each. A couple places where you can purchase the Classic atomizers for less (around $10) are Amazon and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Finally Done Messing Around ~ New Blog Design

Within the last few weeks, you have probably noticed me fooling around with my blog design. I think I've finally figure out how I want it to look! I wanted to clean it up and organize it a bit. Bout time eh? I also have a new "tagline"! LOL Every now and then, I get bored with the same things. Change in your life is a great way to keep your brain exercised. Bored? Change things up! I'm the type of person whom every 6 months or so, likes to change my apartment around just for a change in scenery. The living room and bedroom get a makeover. It's like moving into a brand new apartment! Enough to drive your husband, boyfriend or whomever your living with crazy! Ha! But I still do it.

My Thoughts:

This is not waterproof and I like this fact for everyday useable mascara. However I feel the naming of the volumizing and the lengthening wands have been reversed which can lead to some confusion. The lengthening wand looks like volumizing and vice-versa. Even the directions say to use the volume wand first and then the length one, which is exact opposite to the general belief of first length then volume.

Notice in the picture above, "the volumizing" side looks "lengthened" not volumized and vice-versa like I had mentioned above about the applicators being reversed. You can see It did separate my lashes nicely and made them look longer/fuller. I like the concept of 2 in 1 mascara and that it doesn't clump even after a few coats. I've worn this all day (8-10 hours) and I didn't experience any smudging or flaking like other brands. The formula didn't bother my eyes like some mascaras have. It's very easy to remove. That's a huge plus not having to "scrub" my eyes to remove it.

My Thoughts

I have never used any eye lash products except for mascara of course on my eyelashes so I was a bit skeptical but excited as well to try it out. If you have sensitive eyes, Lashem Measurable Difference Lash Gel has taken out all the junk that might cause you to have irritated eyes, while wearing mascara. I've only been using this a week, so I will update my review as I use this more. In just one week, however, so far the results look very promising. I have already noticed a slight increase in my lash length. It also works great as a conditioner for your eyelashes.

To use it, you use the brush applicator and stroke it along your top and bottom lashes as if you were applying eyeliner on the base. It glides on smoothly, easily and sinks right in. As mentioned above, I'll continue to update my review. For now, it seems to be working and is easy to use and apply.

WEEK 3 UPDATE: After using this for two weeks, I'm still really pleasantly surprised by how well this is working! The ends of my lashes also now have a nice curl to them. I'm surprised by how quickly this product seems to be working.

WEEK 5 UPDATE: I've been using this for 5 weeks now and my eyelashes definitely fall off less frequently. I did notice that they are fuller as well. Not a "huge" difference but definitely noticeable. The difference is especially noticeable when I put on mascara. They are longer in general, especially those little lashes in the corner. My bottom lashes have grown a little as well. They are conditioned, soft and look thicker to me. I have also used it for eyebrows and it helps to fill in between. It didn't appear to leave any discolorations like some Eyelash growth serum's are known to do.

If you expect instant results, it's not gonna happen. It took just almost a month for me to see noticeable results and your experience might differ. One container of LASHEM Measurable Lash Gel lasts 180 days if application is once a day. One container of LASHEM Measurable Lash Gel lasts 90 days if application is twice a day, as suggested.

R.I.P Whitney Houston~ A True Diva And Legend!

Most of you have probably heard the shocking news. Singer/Actress Whitney Houston passed away earlier Saturday afternoon. Her cause of death is still unknown. You can see more details on the story here. It's only been a few hours since the news broke and I'm still very shocked about this. When I first seen the headline scroll across the bottom of my TV screen, my mouth dropped! I didn't believe it. Rumors swirled around online, that it wasn't true. But after sitting here for the last couple hours watching the Pre-Grammy show online, it became very real. So many celebrities, close friends and loved ones shared their stories about how Whitney came into their lives and how they knew her.

Whitney was only 48 years old, she had so much more to live for! Alot of celebrities lead "glamorous" yet "troubled" lives and it's sad when it eventually catches up with them. After the announcement of her death, many thought of her personal demons. Whitney Houston's struggle with drug and alcohol use was highly publicized. "The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy,"

I feel that no matter what the autopsy shows was the cause of death that we all should remember her for the amazing woman she was, for all the greatness she brought to this world. She was beautiful and so well respected. She's been up and she's been down! She built herself back up! That alone I have the most respect for and look up too. No matter what life gives you, you can pick yourself up again. Remember we've all made mistakes in our lives, we are all human! Personally I believe if it wasn't for her crackhead ex husband Bobby Brown, she might still be alive today! I'm so sad to see a inspiration like her leave us too soon!

Whitney had several #1 songs on the charts, to only be able to choose just one favorite, would be impossible for me. "The voice" she had was simply amazing. The feeling and soul she put into her music was undeniable.

Recipe Monday ~ Snickers Candy Bars

I love Snickers chocolate bars so when I came across this recipe I had to try it out! It's super easy to make and OMG to die for! This recipe makes 40 servings.

Ingredients:

2 cups milk chocolate chips

½ cup butterscotch chips

¾ cup creamy peanut butter

¼ cup butter

1 cup sugar

¼ cup evaporated milk

1 ½ cups marshmallow creme

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 ½ cups salted peanuts , chopped

1 (14 ounce) package caramels

¼ cup whipping cream

Directions:

1. Melt together 1 cup milk chocolate chips, 1/4 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter then spread on bottom of 9 X 13 cake pan- put in refrigerator or freezer to set up while next layer is prepared.

2. Boil 1/4 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup evaporated milk together for 5 minutes.

3. Take off stove and add 1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme, 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 1/2 cups salted and chopped peanuts.

4. Pour over first layer that was chilling then place back in freezer.

5. Melt 14 ounces of caramels with 1/4 cup whipping creme until smooth then pour over second layer that is chilling- place back in freezer.

6. Melt together 1 cup milk chocolate chips, 1/4 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter then spread on the top of of third layer in the pan.

7. Return to chill until set up.

8. Store in refrigerator to keep from getting too soft and to aid in cutting and serving.

9. Too wonderful for words!

I received L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Shampoo & Intense Repair Masque to review as part of a campaign through ChickAdvisor. I was so excited when I received this product in the mail. I have very thick hair that tends to get staticy and frizzy in the winter from the dry air and from the over styling when I had longer hair, I'm sure that didn't help. Since I chopped off all my hair, I don't use alot of styling tools anymore ( ie: Blow dryer, Flat iron) which as a result, has helped control the dryness a little bit. But I have started coloring my hair again recently and have noticed the dryness coming back.

My Thoughts:

L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Shampoo- Like all hair products, when I received this, I had to smell it right away, smells awesome! Clean and refreshing. It almost has some sort of melon scent to it, I could be way off. I just can't quite put my finger on the actual scent. It provided lots of foamy lather, which I love and rinsed out quickly with no build up left in my hair. It left it feeling really clean

L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Masque- I love this repair masque. It's very light weight, so it didn't flatten it at all. It actually put life back into it and made it shiny and silky smooth with no oily feeling! Immediately after using the shampoo and masque, I could feel a huge difference in the texture of my hair. I still can't get over how soft it is! It feels fabulous and looks super healthy!

These products don't come cheap! At $30 a pop for the Shampoo and Masque, the price is a little high. But it works! Well worth the price. Not only does it smell great, but it works on my dry hair. I've been using it since I colored my hair just a couple days ago and it has really helped with keeping it from drying out. I am extremely happy with this product. It is gentle and very effective. Say goodbye to dry life-less hair! I definitely recommend this shampoo and masque for anyone with over colored/straightened hair.

Blogger Comments Vs Disqus: Which Is Better?

So for little while now I have been contemplating on switching over to Disqus for comments instead of the default blogger system. I've done a bit of research and Disqus has it's ups and downs but with the pros outweighing the cons it sounds like such a great tool to use on your blog/site. I came across two different articles Should You Use DISQUS Comment System? Maybe...and Disqus: Is it a Good Comment System? both are heavily swaying me to switch to Disqus.

Disqus is able to bring a lot of new capabilities to us bloggers. For example, the ability to do threaded replies is a great option to have. This means anyone that wants to can engage anyone else directly, rather than replying to everyone. The threaded replies are indented, making it easy to track sub-discussions. Blogger does not have this option as of yet.

I know personally when I go to a Wordpress blog I think the feature where the blogger can actually respond to a comment someone has posted, then in return the person who posted the comment gets a personal response by email in regards to their comment is pretty darn sweet! Blogger should have that feature, but unfortunately they don't. The option to thread your comments on Blogger does exist, but doesn't not have the option for us to reply to our readers and for them to be notified of this without being difficult. There is an option when you leave a comment on Blogger to Subscribe to comments via email, but then you won't just be notified on the bloggers response to you, you will also be notified every single time someone posts a comment on that post! Can you say SPAM much?

I don't really think I would deal well with my Blackberry dinging all day long because I am being notified of constant comments on someone's blog. Checking and responding to emails at home is enough work in itself, alot of people like me have their email linked to their Smart phones and seriously having your phone freak out all day long would stress me right out! LOL Out of all my rambling, I just want a better, more organized, more personal way of responding to my readers through comments. Where they actually can receive the response without having to go back to that blog and check for replies. Is that too much to ask?

What are your thoughts on Disqus? Have you tried it? Do you like it more than the regular integrated Blogger or Wordpress comment form?

My Thoughts:

These roll-ons are sophisticated and unique, definitely not in-your-face scents, but enough to enjoy the wonderful fragrances, that are feminine and delicate without being overpowering! The simple packaging minimizes waste and the glass bottles are easily recycled. When I first unscrewed the caps and took a whiff of each one, I knew It was going to be really hard choosing a favorite out of all 6 scents, but I think I will go with the Hawaiian Papaya, just because I love the airy tropical scent. It's like having a tropical vacation on your body! It takes me away and makes me happy when I wear it. I literally can't not stop smelling my wrists with any of these fragrance oil's on!

These roll on oils last a decent amount of time, they aren't as long-lasting as spray-on perfume, I did have to reapply it again later in the day, but that's OK. It's very small so you can carry it with you, even in a very small purse. Not only does this smell great but it's actually healthy. No synthetic fragrances or oils are used, only natural botanical ingredients making this a healthy cocktail for the skin and the senses.

These roll-ons do not smell 'perfumey or like chemicals' since they are natural, organic & chemical free. It does not give me a headache or make me feel sick like some fragrances. The scent seems to 'come alive' when it touches my skin. It might seem expensive to spend twenty bucks on such a small bottle of fragrance oil, but let me tell you: it's worth it.

They are great date-night scents, or just as good for everyday daytime occasions. I highly recommend Kai's scent for any female gift recipient you have on your list, the organic fragrance oil roll-ons add a tropical element that will make you nostalgic for your last island getaway.

My Thoughts:

Cold and Flu season is well among us and I have had the much dreaded pleasure of meeting it face to face this week. What a fabulous start to 2012! LOL I've been pretty much bed ridden with the nastiest of head colds for the last 3 days! :( Sleeping 15+ hours everyday, but waking up so damn tired I can't stay awake!

Having a constantly interupted sleep, thanks to coughing, sneezing and not being able to breathe, is no fun. Who knew you could sneeze so much while your sleeping???? I just love being pumped full of cough medicines and other various cold remedies, so I don't get to have a life! NOT! Ha! I'm not gonna complain too much in that aspect though, as my body obviously needs the rest.

If it wasn't for Neo Citran, Cepacol Cough Drops and NyQuil, I would be a total headcase right now! I'm already a huge baby when I'm sick! LOL So for that, I'd like to formally apologize to the few heads I've ripped off in the last few days. Luckily for them, I dont suffer from PMS, only when I'm sick :P I Just wanna relax, get some much needed rest and be a big whiny baby on my own! Is that too much too ask? LOL

I really dread being sick, cause I tell ya, when I get sick my body usually goes "ALL OUT", simply to make my life a living hell of course. LOL but thankfully this time its just a common head cold. A real nasty one, but at least I know I will be up and running again come the weekend and be back to my old cheery self again. I wouldn't be able to say that if it was something worse. See there is always a bright side ;) Hehe.

Facebook is doing it yet again! As of Dec 24th. 2011 your profile will have a completely new look! Are you as tired as I am of them constantly changing? YEESH! I'm not sure what to make of the new look, it's gonna take alot more getting used to then the previous changes they have made in the past. It reminds me alot of MySpace.

I tried MySpace out for a while last year and honestly I didn't like it at all. Too much spam and app requests going on there for my liking. Facebook has given the option to Preview your new Facebook profile now or you can wait until it goes live. My suggestion? I'm just gonna switch over and get it over with! Maybe by the time it goes live, I will actually have things figured out! LOL

Pulsonic is Oral-B's slimmest and lightest sonic toothbrush. It whitens teeth by reducing up to 94% of surface stains in two weeks but still gentle on your teeth and gums. Pulsonic also features a timer to help you brush for 2 minutes as recommended by dentists.

Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush Charger Base

I received the Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush to review as part of a campaign through ChickAdvisor. I'm used to my manual toothbrush so this was a new experience for me. I'm used to having a bigger toothbrush head so it took some getting used to with the Oral-B pulsonic because the head seemed a bit small. After using it for the last 2 weeks, I will gladly say that this is the best toothbrush I have ever owned! I will never go back to a traditional brush. You don't get nearly the same type of cleaning with a manual brush than with an electric, simply because your hand is not capable of reproducing the 27,000+ vibrations per minute that an electric can. In addition, most people with manual brushes spend about 40 seconds, (I made that number up) brushing their teeth. An electric brush naturally makes you spend longer. Which is great as it makes sure you brush for dentist recommend amount of time (2 minutes).

Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush Heads

It's very light weight and slim and I love the smaller brush attachment for the back teeth and in between teeth. When I am done my teeth feel so clean, like I just had them polished at the dentist! It is not hard on the gums, in fact it stimulates them unlike any toothbrush I have ever used. The bristles are somewhat hard without the slightest irritation to the gums.The design of the brush makes it easy to reach everywhere and is actually pretty quiet. The battery life is also fantastic! Going on just over two weeks and I haven't had to charge it yet. The overall feel, quality, and weight of the product is excellent and I would very much recommend this toothbrush.

Customized Brushing Modes

Pros: The battery life is excellent.There are two settings, clean or sensitive, which both do a great job. The weight, it is not heavy, feels like a regular brush. Great coverage and cleaning action on your teeth.

Cons: The price. This toothbrush currently retails for $69.99 CAD that might seem a bit pricey to some, but it is ever worth it! I feel that it's a reasonable price for the results it offers.
